Volunteers Needed!

We need skilled and unskilled volunteer workers to come and join a team to help to rebuild the city of New Orleans.  We encourage individuals, couples, and families to consider joining a team in 2008.  You will be blessed as you serve in Jesus’ name! 

 

Remaining Trips for 2008 

 

March 30-April 5 (Adult)

June 22-28 (Multi-age, including student ministry)

September 21-27 (Adult)

November 9-15 (Adult)

 

 

Application process

 

  1. Pick up a First United Methodist Church application in our church office or from a team coordinator.  Complete and return with a $100 non-refundable deposit.  This confirms your spot on the team!
  2. The team coordinator will then give you all necessary Lighthouse Ministry forms, including application, medical and liability.  These forms are due two weeks prior to your trip date along with your final payment.
  3. There are partial scholarships available.  Please see a team coordinator for the scholarship application.

 

Team Meetings

 

There will be a training session for each team and these dates will be set 4-6 weeks prior to your trip date.  At this time, you will be briefed on projects, itinerary, safety and be given a packing list.

 

 

Accommodations

 

 

We will be staying at the First Baptist Church of Reserve, Louisiana base.  There are bunk beds in men’s and women’s quarters.  We will eat our breakfast and dinner here, with lunch provided at our work sites.  There will be nightly team meetings and debriefing times, as well as time for worship and prayer.  We are treated like family at our home base!
