Mark Wittig was accepted as a career missionary candidate with OMS International in 1984. Mark is professor of missions at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia in Medellín (www.unisbc.edu.co). As an ordained minister, he is also involved in a church-planting ministry and supervises a city-wide sports program, which evangelizes and disciples over 1,000 children and youth of Medellín through soccer on a weekly basis (www.cusportsclub.org).

Reared on the mission field, Mark graduated in 1976 from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and went to Spain under the M1 (Missionary one year) program with OMS in 1976-77. He received his master of divinity degree in 1982 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and in 2000, obtained a doctorate in missiology at Trinity.

While in Deerfield, Mark established and pastored a Hispanic church. He also has done volunteer work with Youth For Christ in North Carolina. After raising support, he reached Colombia in 1985 to begin ministry there.

Mark has three grown children: Stephanie, Luke, and Nate.
