Programs for Children

 

Nursery Care- provided for infants   up to 2 years at 8:15, 9:30 and 10:45 each Sunday  morning in Nursery. Childcare for 3 & 4 yr olds  at 10:45 in room 103.

 

Sunday School- provided for 2 year olds through 6th grade from 9:30-10:30 each Sunday morning. Combined Sunday School classes in June, July, and August.

 

Sunday Morning Singing- children 3 yrs through 2nd grade meet from 9:30-9:45 in room 103 for singing and prayer.

 

Storytime- children K-2nd grade dismiss prior to the sermon during 10:45 service, to room 102 for a Bible story and fun with friends.

 

  56’ers- 5th & 6th graders meet once a   month for service projects and social events which provide an opportunity for fellowship, serving and learning. Sept-May

 

Upward Basketball- unique ministry for K-6th grade that connects kids to Jesus through the sport of basketball. Jan-March

 

Lenten Wednesdays- childcare provided for infants up to 2yrs. Lenten study for ages 3yrs- 2nd grade. Feb. 25- Apr.8, 2009

 

    VBS- fun and exciting week of Bible school for children 4 yrs- 6th grade. July 2009

  

Fellowship Events for Families

   

Advent Family Night- Celebrate the start of Advent season with dinner, fellowship, a children’s craft and a special program. Nov. 30, 2008

 

Gingerbread House Party- Come decorate your very own house on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 from 11:45-1:30 with lunch provided.

 

Easter Egg Hunt- Family event for all ages at the East Lampeter Park on Saturday April 4, 2009 from 12-2 with lunch provided.

   Opportunities for Children to Serve:

 

  Children’s Participation Sunday-   annual tradition when children in 3rd-6th grade help lead worship by serving as ushers, greeters, musicians, acolytes and sound technicians; our two children’s choirs sing; several of our 5th and 6th graders lead litany, prayer and scripture. Feb. 22, 2009

  

   Easter Musical- Children’s choirs will present @ Contemporary Worship. 4/19 

 

Mission- local and global donation days TBA; card ministry for homebound church members and for the Armed Forces Support Group.

  • To employ creative and interactive teaching techniques.

 

  • To enable students to apply Bible lessons to everyday situations.
