Youth Sunday school classes

We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall to pray together. From there we split into our separate junior high and senior high classes:

Junior High (6-8th Grade): Room L02 with teachers Susan Seavey, Teresa Sakrudkar, Marge Kuhn, and Joe Reed. This year we are doing a “walk through the Bible”, emphasizing God’s promises and plan for salvation through Christ through each major episode of the Bible.

Senior High (9-12th Grade): Room L01 with teachers Paul Richer and Wayne Betty. This year we are a starting with a study of Jesus’ miracles.

* Additional leaders Samuel Longmire and Evanmichael Drexler will be back and forth between the Sunday school classrooms week to week to observe the classes, interact with the youth, and contribute to the discussions.

* Confirmation class has been postponed until next fall (2019). The current junior high class will function as a pre-confirmation preparatory class, due to its broad focus on the whole Bible.

Compassion International Child

The youth group has been sponsoring a child since July 20, 2011 through Compassion International.  Her name is Igikundiro Pascaline and she has happily been nicknamed "Iggy".  She lives in Rwanda with her father and mother.  Her father is sometimes employed as a farmer and she has two other siblings.  She was born on March 20, 2006.

Compassion International and our sponsorship allows Iggy to learn, receive nutritious meals and get regular health screenings and medical treatment when necessary.  She also learns about the love of Jesus, receives personal attention and can play with other children in a safe environment.

It only costs $38 a month to sponsor Iggy.  Would you like to sponsor a month to make a difference in this child's life?

Send a check to First United Methodist Church for only $38.  In the memo line, please write - "Iggy- Compassion Child".
