First United Methodist Church of Lancaster is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We have four services available. A typical service runs for about 1 hour. Qualified nursery care is available during all three Sunday worship services. Please plan to hang out after the service for fellowship and meet new people in our gathering place.

Located in our Sanctuary, our traditional services offer music from choirs and a rich liturgical experience.
Contemporary 9:30 AM
Sunday Worship Service
Our contemporary worship service takes place every Sunday in the Celebration Center on the second floor and features a meaningful blend of contemporary and traditional music, led by our contemporary worship team.
Taizé Prayer Services
4th Saturdays, 6 PM
Taizé Worship is an ecumenical, candlelit evening prayer service inspired by the interdenominational community of Taizé in France. Through meditative Scripture readings, contemplative music, prayers of praise, moments of silence, and simple Scripture‑based chants, this service offers a peaceful space for reflection and prayer. Join First UMC every fourth Saturday of the month at 6 PM.
Children's Ministry
Jr. Church is available for all three worship services, and Sunday School is available for all age groups at 9:30 am. Click below for more details.
Youth & Young Adult Ministry
Youth Sunday School and Youth Group are available and led by our Minister of Youth. We also offer a young adult ministry (ages 18–39) that gathers for Bible study and social events. This group, known as F.L.O.W. (Friends Living On the Word), is also led by our Minister of Youth.

Sunday School, small groups, seasonal bible studies & women's ministry.
Parking Information
Parking is available directly behind the church and is accessible from the Lemon Street entrance.
Follow the signs in the parking lot for First Church's parking.
On Sundays, the Doctor parking spaces listed are available for First Church use. Please do not park in our tenants' spaces or the real estate office parking spaces.
Parking is also available at other locations, such as Lancaster's parking garages and other businesses that allow First Church to use their parking on Sunday mornings.
