First Church Spring 2023 Events


SACRED RHYTHMS: ARRANGING OUR LIVES FOR SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION

This 6-week study includes sermon series and small group studies. Each week we will learn about a different spiritual practice. Spiritual seekers and growing disciples have engaged in these practices throughout history to grow closer to God. Like the natural rhythms of nature, building these practices into our everyday life feeds our soul and opens us to God’s presence.

When and Where: February 26-April 9.

EASTER EGG HUNT

This annual event includes thousands of candy-filled eggs. Baskets are sure to be overflowing. This is a great time to celebrate with our neighborhood and make friends.

EPIC EASTER EVE EVENT

SATURDAY, APRIL 8 @ 8 PM

Full Orchestra & Live Worship Art


The annual Epic Easter Eve Concert combines powerful and uplifting music presented by a live orchestra under the direction of Brian Norcross. During the concert Brian Lehman, will create a piece of art reflecting the Easter season.


This year the musical focus is the “Common Person.” We will begin with Aaron Copland’s famous “Fanfare for the Common Man.” This will be followed by the world premiere of Ralph Lehman’s “Lux Aeterna.” Ralph is a local composer and a friend of First UMC. The performance will conclude with Aaron Copland’s epic Symphony No. 3, based upon “Fanfare for the Common Man.” This one-of-a-kind presentation will amaze and uplift your eyes, your ears, and your heart!
