Christmas 2022

Celebrate the Season with Us!

A remarkable thing happened that first Christmas.  Jesus was born as Emmanuel, “God with us.”  At First United Methodist Church, we believe God is still with us, bringing hope, joy, love and peace – in all circumstances.  This Christmas season, join us to dive deeper into the meaning of Christmas.  Learn more about God’s love for you and your family!  Come celebrate with us!

The Music of Christmas

"Night of the Father's Love" by Pepper Choplin

FUMC Chancel Choir, Full Orchestra, under the direction of Brian Norcross

Sunday, December 11, 8:15 and 10:45am

All of the mystery, the awe, and the palpable excitement of that night are imaginatively captured in a Christmas mosaic that combines fragments of the familiar with a unique perspective in word and music. "Night of the Father's Love" skillfully guides the listener through the Christmas story, as though hearing it again for the first time. Narrators interject with familiar scripture passages and personal reflections, while an intriguing array of musical styles that range from an energetic Celtic style to a simple folk melody and the lush imagery of a ballad all beautifully express the essence of Christmas: the gift of the Father's love.
